Located in western Colorado just south of Grand Junction, the Colorado National Monument is like a mini-Grand Canyon. Along with great vistas, hiking the trails gets great views and rock formations are amazing.
Desert hike
There are several trails through the national park. Hikers are encouraged to stay on the trails. There are some really great views of the rocks and scenery along the way.
Desert Vegitation
As you hike through Colorado National Monument, it is tempting to just look at all the beautiful rock formations, and that alone would be worth the hike. But, look closer, look at the ground. The desert vegitation is too often overlooked. Take the time to enjoy them, and you’ll be glad you did.
Rock climbers in the monument
As you go along the drive, there are turn outs with short walks to some amazing views. You may also notice some rock climbers.
